What Previous Participants Are Saying

“After attending the retreat, I’ve come to the realization that my wounds do not define who I am today. I’ve learned that I am worthy of love, happiness, and acceptance. Being able to connect with all the other amazing people on the weekend gave me the sense that I am not alone! It was very comforting not to feel judged, but to be loved and accepted just for me.”

Daniel R., Yuma, AZ

I am wanted and worthy of being loved. I am okay, just being me. I am capable of so much good in the lives of others. I can recognize the role that my attachment wounds have played in hijacking my way of thinking about myself and others. Everyone at the retreat was willing to trust the process and embrace each activity to support each other through vulnerable moments of self-discovery. I have made lifelong friends because of the bonds formed in the fiery furnace of feelings. My capacity to experience my reality without wanting to escape, detach, or numb out. Instead, I have the courage to lean into each new moment, feel what I feel, and know I have the tools and understanding to continue growing each day.

Daniel R, Texas

I learned that my core beliefs about myself are the cause of my frustration and anger, and they are what prevent me from being the loving person I really want to be. Also, I learned the value of being vulnerable and making connections through the interactions with my fellow participants. The transformation I made and felt in myself was amazing, and the amazing change I saw in everyone around me was such a beautiful experience! Now I am able to show up for myself, which means I can show up for others. There is a strength and peace i now feel that will allow me to deal with challenging situations in a more generous and loving way.

David P. Canada

After I attended the retreat, I was able to finally challenge that feeling and find my own inner strength and worth. I learned that I am so much more than all the shadowy voices in my head. Better yet, I found a great connection with the participants and trainers to help me stay accountable for my growth.

Eric P., Arizona

My biggest takeaway from the retreat was connecting with other people and forming friendships. When I got to the retreat, I realized there is much more to my emotional wounds than I ever thought. But sharing the experience with other men who have similar life situations was life-changing. I have a group of new friends who have shared part of my journey. This unique opportunity for personal growth and learning will empower you to make real changes in your life.

I have a pattern of isolation. I am afraid of being a burden to other people. Prior to attending the retreat, I felt I was the only one struggling with my emotions and the entire world rested on my shoulders. I was using methods I thought were coping, but in actuality, I was numbing. During the retreat, I learned how to recognize them and reach out instead of isolating them. I realized that I am not a burden. I am loved.”

Madison H., Mesa, AZ

My biggest challenge has been chronic pain. I have even battled with thoughts of self-harm. Before attending The Finding Peace Retreat, I felt hopeless. The exercises and non-judgmental environment allowed me to feel safe. I can better recognize the wounds in other people and understand that their behavior comes from their own pain and not as a reflection of my worth. I learned the importance of connecting on a daily basis with others and that I am lovable and enough.

Jenny K., Yuma, AZ

“This course has been a pivotal point in our relationship. We have come to realize what has been in front of us all this time but just couldn’t see it. This course gave us the tools/map to navigate through it all to get to the place we both want to be. We can now see it, address it correctly & build from it.”

B.S., Arizona

“I am a survivor of emotional abuse and reacting to others in ways that caused me severe emotional distress. After the retreat, I felt stronger and more empowered. I was able to separate what is my part to own versus other people’s parts to own. I was able to see more clearly the wounds of others and how we can find friendship through common support. ”

FAQ

What will I learn from attending the retreat?

The weekend involves large-group sessions, small break-out groups, and individual work. We strive to create a safe environment where you can boldly challenge the negative messages tattoed on your hearts and feeling emotions you may have been suppressing. Participants are invited to allow themselves to be seen, cared for, and supported as they step into the arena of heart work and healing.

The retreat uses experiential learning rather than a lecture. This helps you fully participate in the learning rather than having information passively shared.

  • Experiential processes include:
    Journaling
  • Visualizations or “guided imagery”
  • Meditation
  • Interactive learning exercises
  • Affirmations
  • Inner-child affirmation and healing work
  • Emotional processing
  • Psychodrama or role-playing, and dramatic self-presentation to gain insight into your life

During the retreat, we explore attachment wounds (Loss, Rejection, Abandonment, Neglect, Betrayal, or Abuse) and how we developed negative core beliefs that impact our ability to feel joy, happiness, and peace. We explore how shame hijacks our lives. We identify how not feeling enough, powerless, or alone impacts our ability to reach the goals and desires we have in our lives.
